Donate Produce
Every garden, from a single tomato plant in a pot to a half-acre of vegetable beds, is part of feeding our community!
During harvest season, Solidarity Gardens maintains 4 produce drop-off points where home gardeners can drop off their excess produce. We then distribute these vegetables to our most food-insecure neighbors through our network of partners.
Not all sites are open all the time, so be sure to check out the donation site map (on the right) before bringing your produce for drop-off.

General Guidelines for Harvesting and Donating Homegrown Produce
We prefer, but do not require, that produce be organically grown.
Harvest in the morning or evening to avoid the heat of the day, or cool down produce in a bowl of cold water before donating.
Rinse any dirt off of produce.
If you are harvesting whole greens plants (like lettuce, spinach, collards, etc.), please cut off the roots before donating.
If you are harvesting root vegetables (beets, turnips, carrots, etc.), please cut the greens off before donating.
Put your vegetables in clean plastic bags, separated by type.
If you are donating hot peppers, please label them clearly with the type of pepper.
If you arrive to a donation site and the receptacle is already full, please let staff on site know.
